The instrument in the image you sent us is an illuminator; it was used as an ancillary equipment for scientific microscopes produced in Officine Galileo between 1938 and 1942. We attach some photographic documentation showing how the illuminator was mechanically interfaced with the microscope. Moreover we are sending you by mail a small book with general historical information about Officine Galileo up to 1943.
